Miu was enthralled by the piano as a child and began taking lessons. Miu is in middle school when the show begins. She is a modest, soft-spoken young lady who lacks confidence in herself. Her friends describe her as "nice" and "quiet." Miu has been taking piano lessons for a long, and while she's been told she's grown rather excellent over the years, she believes she's not very talented at anything—including the piano. Mr. Shirakawa, her instructor, is frequently irritated with her performance. Her heart isn't in it, despite the fact that she plays every note perfectly... Meanwhile, Miu has reached the age where she begins to notice guys, and this shy young girl has taken notice.
