It is hardly surprising that Megumin and Yunyun's clan, the Crimson Demons, are feared by the Demon Lord's warriors. The Crimson Demons are ultimate masters of powerful and sophisticated magic, so even if the Demon Lord's generals invade their town, they can simply sweep them aside. Yunyun instantly alerts Kazuma Satou and the rest of his party about an apparent serious letter she has received about a potential tragedy affecting her village. It turns out to be a simple joke by her fellow demon who aspires to be a novelist after a string of bizarre miscommunications. Megumin nonetheless worries about her family and travels with the group to the town of the Crimson Demons. Kazuma and the others decide to go sightseeing there marvels of the birthplace of Megumin. They quickly understand, though, that the absurd threat they were given could have been more than just a jest.
